Diagnostics by ultrasound

Our consulting room is equipped with modern ultrasound scanner HITACHI EUB- 5500 (Japan). It’s fully digital, compact, multi-purpose ultrasound with doppler and colour flow mapping functions used for diagnostics of heart, stomach, urogenital system, vascular gland and great vessels.

It’s a practical, rapid and relatively inexpensive technology that allows to assess patient’s health, evaluate any pathology and detect changes. It’s quick and non-invasive.

How to prepare for an ultrasound scanning

  • 1. Ultrasound of kidneys, thyroid, hearts.

    No preparation is necessary

  • 2. Ultrasound of abdomen

    In order to enhance the quality of diagnostics, it’s necessary to leave out certain products 1-2 days before the procedure. They are (rye bread, fresh vegetables, fruit, milk). The ultrasound should be carried out on an empty stomach. If it’s not possible to do the scanning in the morning, it’s allowed to have light breakfast (for instance, sugarless tea).

  • 3. Ultrasound of lower pelvis (for women).

    If the scanning is done through anterior abdominal wall (with abdominal unit), the bladder should be full. Drink 1 liter of liquid 1-1,5 hours before the ultrasound or don’t urinate 3-4 hours before the procedure.

  • 4. Ultrasound of bladder and prostatic gland.

    The scanning is done on a full bladder. Drink 1 liter of liquid 1-1,5 hours before the ultrasound or don’t urinate 3-4 hours before the procedure.

  • 5. Ultrasound of lacteal glands.

    Ultrasound is done in the period of the 4- 8 day of the cycle, if necessary the scanning can be done any time.
